This was a blast from the literal past! I haven't been to a steakhouse like this since I was a kid. My husband had been coming here since he was a kid and this was the first opportunity to dine here since we live in California now, but are about to build in Starkville. The menu is pretty simple, with quite a few items to choose from. We went in the late evening, so it was dimly lit. We were seated and our server was very friendly and attentive. She brought our drinks right away. I ordered a rib eye, my husband a TBone, and I have to say both were done to perfection. The seasoning used is exceptional and delicious! Our meal came with a baked potato and salad. The pricing is very reasonable, which is why their customers are regular and frequently return. I don't know how long it has been here, at least since the 70's, but I plan on coming back for many years to come. We will definitely make this a staple when we return to the area.
I'm a huge fan of this place. I always get the large ribeye and no potato or bread. They are always happy to substitute an extra salad which is great for my keto diet. Service is always great. This is about as basic a steakhouse as you'll find anywhere. Nothing fancy, just delicious steak. My kind of place!
Y'all know Kim prefers sirloin steak, and the charcoal grilled sirloin here is just what she was looking for. I prefer the filet, and the one they offer is larger than my nutritionist allows so I had leftovers. The sides are salad and a potato, simple! The atmosphere? Ummm, this sure is delicious steak, right, honey!?!?!
